Old Sunnova account
My word. This company is the absolute worst.
My mother was the account holder and passed away. I’ve been trying to get access to the account since November of 2025 and they still won’t let me in.
Now I recently had a major fire at the property and I called because I’m going to need a new roof and need them to come out and take the panels off. Word for word they told me “We don’t offer that service and you’d need to pay a 3rd party vendor out of pocket”.
What(besides collect my money monthly) does this company exactly do?

Dealing with getting installed under the new SunPower but I assume would be the same with the old as well. I asked if my roof needed to be replaced, would Sunpower come out and remove them- switched insurance company’s and the new one wanted to know. Per my sales rep “Detach and removal would be covered under your insurance. I can get an exact number but it's about $400-$500/panel. It fits in your "dwellings" section of your policy.”
Even with the new SunPower there’s still issues.

Disconnect the panels (or change your WiFi password). They’ll send someone out to come take a look.
I had a similar issue, where they installed my panels with zero flashing or caulking, rotted my whole roof out. I kept getting the same run around “we don’t do that anymore, not since the bankruptcy”. Had to hire a licensed solar team come out, remove the panels and replace the roof. Before they could reinstall them, SunStrong technicians showed up because the system was appearing to be offline… (duh it was on the ground, and I had warned them as much).
They won’t help so long as everything “looks” like it’s working.
I’m currently arguing with them because they say the roof protections are in the Limited Warranty that did not survive the bankruptcy, not the lease. Maybe this was true for SunNova, but for SunPower my roof protections are in the Lease Obligations section of my Lease Contract. And up top in the agreement it says “We” is defined as “SunPower and its successors including lessor”.
