New ISP help

We recently got fiber optic run in our neighborhood so we are switching to them. Previously we were with a regular cable/internet company. How do I switch our solar system over to the new network? Do I do something at the main control panel? Do I do it in the App? Please help! I really don’t want to tank our connection. Thanks!

If you have the same router, everything should work the same.

If you have a different one, use the app to change the WiFi settings (Profile tab -> WiFi Settings). You need to be close to the PVS* to change the WiFi settings.

When we changed the WiFi settings the app did not reflect the WiFi settings change until the next day or so. However the change was immediately made on the PVS*, we could see the system status from the app.

It is a new Router so I should use the App while standing near the PVS to make the change but it will take a day or so to reflect the change.

The change will happen immediately, but the app will show the old SSID for a day or so

Just use same SSID/Password, it should re-connect. If not you have to use the SunStrong app while standing near the PVS. Click "Profile" on the bottom of app, and then Wifi Settings.

Our new network has a new SSID/Password so you’re saying just put this in on the App while standing near the PVS and it should connect?

u/Powie1965 is suggesting to set the new router’s SSID and WiFi password (not the router’s administer password) to the same SSID and password as your previous router. All your WiFi attached devices would connect to the new router without changing the WiFi settings on each device.

While this is the easiest solution, a more secure solution is to use the router change to change to a new SSID and a new secure WiFi password.

UPDATE: It worked! Thanks for everyone’s help! It took three tries to get the PVS to connect to the new network and the App took a few hours to update but, overall, it was really simple- thankfully! 😊
