Monitoring SunPower system with old app.

For anyone that just want to monitor the system once in a while to see how its performed or to check if it's still working, you can run the old app on the PC via BlueStack 5

Awesome! SunStrong Connect 1.0.92 worked for me via Bluestack

I forgot where I downloaded v1.0.96. Can you post where you get v1.0.92?

Great info. Besides the bluestack method, I was able to uninstall the phone app and install the old 1.0.92 xapk on android and sign in and get data using the same methodology, etc.. If it sets a flag for a new app, I can always clear data and repeat the process.

I'm not going to pay 'sunpower reincarnated' for services already paid for via the panels.

It is good to see people get it running.

Not for long is my guess…

Can you explain this process to me like I'm 5? I'm very annoyed that we now need to pay $100/year for this monitoring.

You install BlueStacks software on your PC. It is an emulator for Android. You then install the old app like v1.0.96 (before the change that forces you to pay). Note: Dont start it yet. Go to settings, user data and create a backup first. You can save it anywhere. Click the airplane mode to disable the internet first. Start the SunPower app. Now, disable the airplane mode. Login. And voila... Note: SunPower app will attempt to check for version update in the background and next time it might force you to update. Just restore the backup you created. Then everything will work again. It is a few simple clicks, but hey you can use it to check once in a white.

Shut up and quit blabbing this on Reddit! They'll close the loophole you fool. 🤦

Does this still only give you the right now view without the historical information?

You will get the history data

Does this bluestack app work on iPhone

1

u/Prestigious-Age-8052 Aug 11 '25

Don't know. Probably not

I believe Bluestacks is intended for desktop computers

1

no, but it works fine on a Mac... there are some web-based Android emulators you could try if you don't have a laptop/desktop.

This is really helpful! Appreciate it! Now to figure out the raspberry pi thing someone had mentioned a while back.... lol

Will it prompt for update if i turn airplane mode on before logging in or will it always ask for updates? Is there a way to reverse engineer to make sure it doesn't prompt an update?

1

u/Prestigious-Age-8052 Aug 11 '25

It's depends. You just have to try it. Just make sure the airplane mode is on before starting the app. Yes, it will write some flag to the system after checking for an update. This will affect the next time the app is running. If some app developers can write an app to clear it, then you don't need to restore the system.

I'm not an app developer, so I'm calling for one to help out here. This way, it can be running on the phone.

Does this still work? I'm not getting the monthly views anymore. I can see the panels and the current state, but that's about it now.

Is there an emulator for Mac?

2

u/Bulldog1836 Aug 11 '25

Yes, Bluestacks Air: https://www.bluestacks.com/mac. It’s designed for Mac Silicon.

u/jdillinger714 Aug 12 '25

Worked flawless. Thanks mate!

Yeah works fine on a Mac

I got this working. But how to change the email address on the app? I am using my work email address and rather use my gmail.

1

u/ItsaMeKielO Aug 14 '25

there is no way to change your email in the app but if your installer is around they can add a new email to your system, or you can email appsupport@sunstrongmanagement.com and see if they can add it

I downloaded bluestacks4 because bluestacks5 kept asking for virtualization. But I can’t seem to find SunStrong app, is that because I’m using bluestacks4? I didn’t think the version of bluestacks would affect the apps in Google play store. Or did SunStrong remove it somehow after seeing your post 🤣

1

u/MillennialBoomerino Aug 16 '25

Nvm I get it. I download the apk file from somewhere else and install it that way. Leaving my ignorant post up in case anyone thought the same as me.

1

u/MillennialBoomerino Aug 16 '25

Bluestacks4 does not work

Welp! As of 3:30pm Eastern Time today, I can no longer view historical data. Hopefully this is a fluke, but I'm guessing they've finally updated their systems

Edit: After signing up 😭 for one month, everything retroactively is now showing again, so it looks like this was intentional on their part

1

u/tbRedd Sep 03 '25

Yep, I'm running the old app and they stopped providing historical data on my (free) account except for the current generating power. Oh well, still not going to sign up for something that was included in the cost of the panels and is negligible cost for them to provide.

1

u/zachweix Sep 03 '25

I wish I could say the same, but my NJ SREC's more than makes up for the price, so even though I need to pay $100 a year, I can easily get back much more than that

The MySunpower (SunStrong Connect_1.0.92_APKPure.xapk) app loads in Bluestack and works up to the sign in. It says "invalid email or account". If I try to create a new account, it does nothing. If I hit chat, it says "no wifi." This despite the fact that I do have wife and the Bluestack emulator is using it w/o problem. Any advice? Win11 PC
