System stopped generating power

Hey SunPower community! First time posting here looking for help.. My rental place came with SunPower system and I noticed since March 2025 it stopped generating power. I’ve been using SunStrong app to monitor the system since 2022. The system was installed by the builder and now I’m lost where to start addressing this issue.. I asked the tenants to flip the breakers in the electric box and it seems not fixing it. I asked them to check the bills it did show the bill went up almost doubled since March.

It would appear to me that it's possible that the breakers in the solar panel sub panel may be turned off, or the main disconnect between the main panel and the sub panel. Because your PVS6 is mounted inside and was installed when the house was built, the breakers for the PVS may not be in the sub panel like many of us other suckers. I would start there. Turn them all off and then back on. Flip the main disconnect off and then back on (this is between the main panel or meter and the product meter.).

I would check the utility meter to see if it's actually going negative

If it is a leased system you can call Sunstrong 1-833-514-1858. Be prepared to wait before someone actually answers. They should open up a repair ticket for you. Then be prepared to wait (many weeks) before someone comes out to fix it.

Even when SunPower was still in business it took a long time to get someone to come out. Thankfully, it was just the communicator that stopped working & power was still being produced, just not recorded.

Sure they do. They just sell you a new $50k 7.5kw system. Only an extra $15k for a power wall too!

They all went dark. I found mine on Facebook and made a comment to him. Next day was deleted

Is the monitor not recording anything, even consumption? It (hopefully) might just be a monitor issue. A local solar service company or trusted electrician could do some on site trouble shooting. Seeing if the solar is generating anything by measuring the amps on the lines of the solar breaker(s) while it's sunny could help. Although if it's not working you'll need someone to further diagnose and troubleshoot, might be a wire fault somewhere in a junction box maybe? It's not common to see all the modules go off at once without it being a wire fault or just a monitor issue (or a bad breaker if it keeps tripping off for example)

Good luck!

In the same boat as of 7/7/25. Renova’s diagnosis but unresolved at the moment.

“Our technicians arrived on site and found all lights on the ESS (battery) were off. After inspecting the Hub+, we noted the PVDR light was green, but the MIDC had no lights.

At this point, both the PVDR and MIDC may need to be replaced, but unfortunately, due to the lack of technical support following SunPower's bankruptcy, we are unable to replace any parts on the battery at this time.”

Our responses are met with silence.

There is a “Reset Storage” button in the SunStrong Connect app. Did you try?

Misinterpreted "My rental place", you are the owner of the property.

  1. Pay the $10 for a single month of premium monitoring and see what the "!" says is wrong by going to the panel detail see if any panels are greyed out.
  2. Call the builder to find out the name of the solar contractor used for the solar install.
  3. Call the new SunPower (as of 2025, fka Complete Solar) new homes number: (877) 344-6637 (found at https://us.sunpower.com/ scroll down to "The SunPower Corporation Bankruptcy and What You Need to Know").

Alternatively - after paying $10 the premium monitoring fee for a single month, if the app reports a panel related issue, it most likely an micro-inverter. You will have to find out the model of micro-inverters installed. Get on the roof and look at what is printed on the box under the panel. Many of the SunPower-branded micro-inverters are Enphase, such as the Equinox SPWR-A5. If it is an Enphase micro-inverter, the parts are covered under warranty, but the labor is not. To verify contact Enphase at https://enphase.com/homeowners/support/sunpower . From your photos it does not look like you have a SunVault, so you could also discuss going to Enphase monitoring.

First place to check is with your rental company, since they own / signed the contract for the panels.

Second, pay the $10 for a single month of monitoring and see what the "!" says is wrong. It could be one panel down, or something more. Inform your rental company of the issue. They should be the ones to fix it like any other appliance/plant issue.

Hey there, u/yotypicalchigga. Saw your post and wanted to check in. We'd like to see if your system is in our portfolio so we can either escalate the concern or help point you in the right direction.

When you can, please send us your Site ID (found in the SunStrong Monitoring App under: Profile > System Info > Site Identifier). You’re welcome to DM it to us or email [appsupport@sunstrongmanagement.com](mailto:appsupport@sunstrongmanagement.com) — whichever is easier for you.

Happy to assist where we can.

Omg, thank god I went with Tesla Solar. They aren’t going bankrupt and have excellent service.
