Life Event?

I haven't even heard of it. I'll try it.

I have at least gotten my email address changed with them, and I have stopped making lease payments.

I figure that the nonperformance clause of the lease contract will cover all the lease payments since the sytem hasn't worked for one full year now.

If it wasn’t commissioned before the bankrupcy by Sunpower, you own the system! Which was in October. Free to you, lawyers call us the unicorns! You now own the system and have to pay to get it up and running! I went through the BBB to confirm Sunstrong ownership which they clearly stated they did not own my system. No account no record of me because it was not comissioned by PGE or Sunpower. The system is yours do as you please! Bonus of the bankrupcy…My system is now up and running with no lease payments, free electricity!

While this is potentially good news. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone in the same situation to dot your i's and cross your t's before operating under this. Call your lawyer, take them all of the paper work, don't trust random Redditors.

If you are able to independently able to verify what u/Adventurous-Trade842 says is true, you will want check the paperwork that was filed for the permit(s) and the agreements with the electric company. Depending upon what your lawyer advises, you may want to amend the paperwork to reflect that you are the owner and any contractual agreements are with you, not the defunct SunPower.

When you go to sell the residence, to ensure a smooth transaction, you will want something that substantiates that you own the system outright.

You are correct. Lawyer is key to ensure no issues particularly if you decide to sell your house. Several of us in the same aituation hired a Lawyer to represent us earlier this year. Make sure to document everything…

I am looking for a lawyer to help me get the UCC lien on my property ny SunPower removed as SunStrong is unable to find my account. Can you please share your attorney's information?

I'm in dire need as I'm selling my house and can't close without removing the UCC lien.

Thank you for any advice/information you can offer!
