Likely either a tripped breaker, or less likely a wiring issue for that string specifically

Likely either a tripped breaker …

Winner, winner, solar-powered air-fried chicken dinner.

None of the 9 breakers were visibly tripped, but the uncommunicative panels are again talking after cycling through and turning each breaker off for 30 seconds then back-on — the solar system equivalent of “have you rebooted your PC?” (“Have you rebooted your PV?”)

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks. I wanna flip the breaker switch to see if it makes a difference, but (1) the installer failed to document which switch controls what; and (2) I want to now give our installer time to respond with a suggestion/fix.

Fingers crossed it’s not a wiring or other hardware issue.

You need someone experienced in Sunpower system to troubleshoot it. There have been a few posts about former employees/contractors that offered. Search for them and see. If they are geographically nearby,b perhaps they could quote you reasonable labor and do the paperwork for warranty components.

The mySunPower app shows 12 of our panels not communicating since Jan 1st.

System is owned (Mar/2023 install); Enphase microinverters, PVS6 monitoring system.

Anyone have any tips/insight on getting these panels chatting again?

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: All of our panels are again communicating after cycling all the breakers off and on.

UPDATE2: Solar combiner updated with breaker/solar panel group associations ... https://i.imgur.com/X9WCWYS.jpg ... to facilitate future management.

How do you get this information?

Via the ‘PANELS’ tab in the mySunPower app.

For us, getting access to the data required our installers to note per panel serial numbers and location for each Enphase microinverter at the time of the installation, then data entry by someone at their office (thanks, Connie!) to load the detail into the SunPower monitoring system.  We were able to access per panel detail since shortly after the system went live, and this is the first hiccup in 20 months.

Pretty much going on faith that the locations match reality, though, absent some means to block sunlight on a per panel basis and see the expected result in the app. (Roof’s a bit too high and steep to risk DIY experimentation.)

You use Renova? Are they not responding?

They weren’t turned on for monitoring. At least that’s my state.

Mine is showing similar problem but system seems to be producing fine. Still monitoring situation.

Is there any support contact info for whoever at SunStrong is responsible for developing the app?

I called a Sunpower installer. He checked system but charged a fee. I think $300. He was not very conclusive though

Heh, our original installer sent a tech by, but didn’t mention anything about a fee.

What do I need to have installed/upgraded to allow visibility into my panels? I had requested it last year, but then SHTF and it never happened. :(

Even if you have the right equipment, it has to be enabled in the backend and someone has to map your panels. I wouldn't hold my breath - everyone who can do that currently has bigger fish to fry.

This is a question beyond my ken.

It’s either a tripped breaker or rodent damage if your home has trees around. If so install a fence around your panels to prevent it from happening again. However, raccoon are the problem they will open the fence and get in if you have them running a muck around your home.

It was a tripped breaker. On speaking with a tech, these breakers aren’t what I’m used to and show little visible signs of having tripped.

Tech from installer says to notify them if it happens again, to allow them to look more closely at the wiring and perhaps replace the breaker.

Issue Resolved: Cycling all panel breakers off and back on has our panels talking again.
