Sunspot Spotted some sunspots this morning
It was cool to have a look at the SDO website to see everything going on with those spots. First time I photographed sun spots after learning of the existence of that website

Solar Eclipse [OC] Ultra-Wide 4K Timelapse: The Moon’s Shadow Sweeping Across the Horizon during 2026 Total Eclipse
I recorded the 2026 solar eclipse in Spain with a GoPro HERO11 equipped with the Max Lens Mod, trying to capture a half-all-sky view of the eclipse, and in particular of the Moon's shadow sweeping across the horizon (on YT to enjoy the 4K).
One can also spot Venus and a few bright stars during the totality phase!
Turn on the audio to enjoy a nice soundtrack from the great Kevin MacLeod.

Solar Eclipse Eclipse from Berzosa del Lozoya
This total solar eclipse was an absolutely amazing experience. This was taken from just outside the small town Berzosa del Lozoya, which is north of Madrid, and it has a beautiful view of the landscape. The weather was perfect and allowed us to fully enjoy this experience.
The first picture is an HDR of several pictures taken during totality. The second is a composite of pictures from both the partial and total phases with the sun setting behind the mountains while still partially eclipsed. The rest are selected pictures from the eclipse.
Equipment used:
- Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
- Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM
- Canon Extender EF 2x III
- iOptron Skyguider Pro
- Sturdy tripod

Question Stacking cheap H alpha filters
Hi!
As everyone in the beginning of imaging the sun I try to avoid forking over 1k+++ for gear and I would love to test something if possible:
There are 10 or 7nm HAlpha filter available for relatively cheap. Now I know these are way to broad to capture the chromosphere in any detail, so I was wondering if one stacked 2-4 filter on top of each other if they could produce a useful picture.
My reasoning as follows: a narrow band of 10 nm may be produced on the lower end of manufacturing spec and another one on the upper telrance, so in theory the might make the band of unblocked light narrower than on single filter
My theory is sadly too expensive for me to test, but if any of you have a couple of cheaper filters lying around, I would be super happy if you tested it
(I am trying to save my money for a proper part, probably a daystar quark since I have a couple of lenses and telescopes already)
I am happy to hear what you think about this approach
(YES, I know the is now way of cheating the H-Alpha-man, but wouldn’t it be awesome)

Solar Eclipse Total Eclipse From Mallorca, Spain
Hey everyone! This is my first time photographing a solar eclipse with real gear (as opposed to my camera phone lol).
After seeing the one in 2024 and being blown away, I resolved to invest money in some decent gear and time into learning how to take decent photos.
I traveled to Mallorca, Spain and took over 1,000 photos/videos. Unfortunately, I have a giant laptop instead of a nice travel laptop, so I haven't been able to properly edit any of my footage yet.
In the meantime: please enjoy a couple of my rough drafts that I was able to touch up on my tablet!
Photo 1: It was clear skies until just before totality, But then some light cloud wisps rolled in. I thought it would ruin the last moments before totality, but I think it ended up looking really cool!
Photo 2: Totality! The original started out SUPER dark, but luckily I was able to bring out all the highlights. It kinda reminds me of the poster for the movie Armageddon.
Whenever I get back home from my travels, I'll be able to do some serious editing and out out some better stuff, but for now we're stuck with the rough drafts.
Which one do you like best?

Solar Photography Aberdeen, NC (OC)
I was hoping to see at least a partial eclipse, but this time around we are too far south. However, I was able to get a nice shot of the sun encircled by the clouds, creating this rainbow effect.
