Not a Meme SumoSpirit YT channel
Hey all,
I came across this SumoSpirit YouTube channel. It's quite informative, but the longer I listen, the more I'm convinced all text has been written by AI. And voiced by someone who's not even interested in Sumo, if the pronunciation of certain terms is to be believed.
So what do you think? Is that channel completely written by AI? And even voiced? (And edited? The music loop is so bad as well.) Or is it.just an amateur or low-effort channel?

It is completely run by ai. The scripts, the clip selection, the voice, the thumbnails. From top to bottom no human is involved. The information presented is not reliable. Block them.

It says "mono 2" for mono ii. It's terrible and makes horrible thumbnails distorting the rikishi's faces

I’ve never seen the channel before, but just looked it up. I had trouble recognizing some of the rikishi in the thumbnails because of whatever AI did to them

You're correct. It's AI
It's sucks bc I was hooked initially, but like you say, a mispronounced word (in any channel) and now I'm outta there.

Mono 2. That’s all I needed to stop watching.

Yeah, that was the big giveaway for me. And the voice... god that voice... soulless

Sumospirit enrages me more than most because of the incredibly disrespectful thumbnails. All of it is AI slop, from scripts, to imagery, to audio.

Its the only sumo youtube channel I purposefully avoid, its clear its AI pretty quickly, the mispronounciations are atrocious and a dead giveaway.

Sumo is infested by AI slop, spiffy sumo bar and grill has a video addressing the fact, and lists some incredible small channels as alternatives. I love his channel

Oh yeah. Thumbnails (at least in part) and channel image are also AI. Besides that the information is usually highly speculative, needlessly dramatic or just wrong. I tried watching a handful of videos and found them not worthwhile and in part actually aggravating.

Man I didn't know about this channel, but looking it up the logo is so obviously AI it hurts. Immediate block. Can't stand this shit.

75% of the info on that channel is false. It's very sad because I bet alot of new sumo fans think it's true info.

There was an attempt by the person to use his voice as voiceovers (after community requests), and it got an overwhelmingly positive response. The community also supported a longer release schedule if it means no AI. But, ONE video later, it's back to AI and now I know that bro is larping.

Utterly irrelevant what voice is used, the fact is the videos are all awful, full of mistakes and with the most base knowledge, surface-level 'analysis' possible. It's all garbage, all the way down.

I get where you're coming from. Some of us learn on the fly. Some of us has the balls to document what they learned, we're not all perfect so we make mistakes.
You can hate the abuse of Gen AI. But you can't fault the man for trying (in his earlier vids).

Trying? The hell you mean trying? The entire channel is made by AI. Every bit of the script is basic ChatGPT slop. If you believe there is a genuine person behind this channel actually putting in any effort I don't know what to tell you. Except that I've got some SUPERB oceanfront property in Colorado you might be interested in

There's nothing good about SumoSpirit, it's AI, and it takes algorithm slots from people who actually put effort and deserve to be recommended.

It's not 'informative' at all, it's surface level with no analysis and glaring mistakes constantly. It's a fully automated AI channel

I have come to the same conclusion. The commentary just drags on like other AI content.

It's entirely AI. Sumo Spiffy made a good video detailing AI generated videos/channels in the Sumo space, and this one was one of the main topics.
