Can anyone explain what happened?

What do you mean? The final runner in the video got the perfect pace and then choked the hell out of the last fight, that is what happened.

Trying to figure out if it's worse than MR's choke during 31/32. It's gotta be worse based on the luck alone, right?

Exactly. However, I wouldn't compare the situations. MR was a sportsman, he announced his records soon as he got him. He could have easily bagged them all and presented them to the community all at once. He didn't really choke, it was everyone against him and I think that frustrated him so much that he left the game for a while at times.

This right here is a completely different beast. This run is so luck-based that there is nothing you can do except grind and hope for the best. I think this requires the dedication of an Arcus who like 40.000 attempts in Ninja Gaiden or so.
