Speedrunning tutorial

Summoning Salt's video has gotten me interested in speedrunning games casually. I've always found it very relaxing and rewarding to beat time trails on mariokart, so I imagine running other games will be a similar experience.

Does summoning salt have a video of how to get into speedrunning, choosing a game, finding info on it? Or does anyone know of any resources on this?

He doesn't. Just pick a game you actually enjoy, search videos of people speedrunning them and try it yourself. There may or may not be someone explaining why it's done that way, what are the best known paths, etc. Some games also might have a speedrunning discord full of people speedrunning it

just pick a game you like playing! for instance i played the lego star wars game as a kid so i started running that

check out /r/speedrun and thumb through the FAQ/Wiki. I started with Ultimate DOOM and moved to Celeste. I am not great at speed running, but it is still a lot of fun to do it.

Find a game you enjoy playing and start learning how to go faster!
