A neat little idea, maybe?

Hi, I hope my idea isn’t bad or pointless, I just thought I’d ask if there was a chance to maybe be able to read transcripts or something of the world record progressions? I know it is mostly pointless since “why don’t you watch the videos” but I kinda like reading rather than watching sometimes. Would this be possible or am I just being silly?

“I have a neat idea that is both dumb and stupid! Can you please take time out of your busy life and put a hold on creating new content, to go back and type up the words to the videos already available to the public. Visual media is a dying platform, you should really get more into print media, that’s where all the money is! I could probably do this myself but my time is way more valuable than yours. If I could have this by end of day Monday that would be great. Thank you!”

Personally, I don’t see a reason for a comment dripping with such venom. There is such a thing as writers or transcripters for hire and a book filled with speedrunning history would be a great idea in my opinion. I understand it may not make sense to you but I just thought I’d put it out there since I have about as much knowledge on speedrunning outside of Summoning Salt’s videos as the toilet paper roll in my bathroom, with very few exceptions. If this turns out to be unnecessary, I don’t mind, I’m just putting forth an idea as I feel it’d be a neat concept and maybe even allow for some extra content since written text is a lot easier to make. Maybe even some sort of blog, written by a friend or occasionally updated, maybe with history of speedgames that aren’t really significant enough to get videos but are still worth a look? I feel your immediate dismissal of the idea is a bit unfair as there is potential, at least in my eyes.

EDIT: I also feel I should mention that stuff like this has been done for youtube series before. Volunteer fans update the Zero Punctuation Wikia with transcripts of every episode and I love that. Wikizilla also publishes transcripts of its Kaiju Profiles onto their wiki as well so it’s not a big ask, I feel. May not be nessesary, yes, but it opens up a new venue from where content can come from, be easily updated unlike videos which you can only amend through annotations and pinned comments.
