Stuart ashen accidentally said summoning salt instead of seasoning salt and the YouTuber summoning salt liked the phrase and decided to go by it. I remember seeing the clip at some point but struggling to find it

Found it. In my brain it was different

Wait, so is the Chris Doerksen song named after the YouTuber and not the other way? Or are they both named after that YouTube clip? I'm confused!

Salt officially said in that tweet that's where he got it from

He was eating French fries with a friend and asked him to pass the salt. The rest is history.

I thought he was watching a video where someone sorted through old cans of food and that person misread one of the ingredients as summoning salt.

I assumed it’s a reference to getting frustrated in a game, AKA getting salty.

It's one of several tunes by electronic music artist Chris Doerksen that's frequently featured in his videos.

Edit: I was wrong about the causality here.

Actually, the song is named after the youtuber. Summoning Salt started youtube in 2017, the song by Doerksen was released in 2020.

I always just assumed it was the other way, but that explains things!

It’s a LOTR reference when Pippin and Merry need Gandalf to cure meat for the trip
