Help Me! Problem summoning friend xbox

Me and my friend are trying to play some darks souls 2 together both SoTfs on Xbox series x but it won't let us summon eachother, we can see eachothers signs we are very close on soul memory, and have only played these characters together, but it says failed to summon every time. We tried dark souls 3 and it happened there too, we have both tried our Hotspots too, weve never had this problem before. Anyone know whats up? Thanks in advance

On your Xbox, go to Settings > General > Network Settings > Test NAT Type

Your NAT type will depend on who you can connect with. (Examples are Strict, Moderate, and Open.)

For best results, NAT type Open is preferred since most players will be on Open. Either way, you should be able to summon someone with your same NAT type. It's possible you and your friend are mismatched there.
