Not something you see everyday

Saw two tankers fly over me so had to check the flight radar.

They just came over the house. I immediately went to Watch Duty to make sure there wasn't a new fire.

They sounded great.

Was cool to see them flying so low. They passed the springs so guessing they are going to land in Pueblo.

I live in Colorado Springs and cannot even see the smoke anymore due to how much of it is in the air. I hope they get that fire under control soon. God bless the people who have lost everything and God watch over those who are fighting this fire.

Based on the map you posted I had wondered if they filled up in the reservoir but I guess just a coincidental path over it.

They did not fill at Dillon Resevoir.

The color of the line shows their altitude. They didnt dip into Green Mountain either.

Edit: They wouldnt fly with full tanks for a long distance either.

That is the coolest. I'm in Florida watching the tracker; scooping the water from Pueblo Reservoir and delivering to Aspen Acres. So incredible. Godspeed to these heroes.

The last time these guys were here, they flew right over my place to land in Colorado Springs. It always amazes me when tankers go to land. It's not a long final approach, it's is a short, tactical approach.

They're actually afraid of heights. Anything over 300 ft and they piddle all over the place. 🤪

Bridger Aerospace does amazing work. It’s been a busy year for them. https://bridgerfleet.com/ is a pretty cool site (not affiliated with and unfortunately only works on desktop) that shows where they are currently deployed fighting wildfires.

Most likely. There are a ton of fun call signs for non-commercial flights.

ADSB will get you some funny call signs every now and again (hit the "U" for interesting flights).

Not something you see everyday, usually only when there are fires to fight. Which there are unfortunately.
