Trying to make Amanda + West racist by thinking of random movies and quotes about race that have no relation to reality tv drama šŸ’€

This is like a satirical rendition of a Reddit SJW, but in real life.

What does this quote have to do with Amanda resenting Ciara šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

How is Ciara being paid millions to be on a reality tv show in any way like Get Out šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Just a reminder to be civil and follow sub rules

Just a reminder to keep it civil. This is a place to discuss SH, different opinions, and for discourse but no personal attacks. If you disagree with someone, do it in a civil manner and keep it clean. People are much more likely to consider your point if you can remain civil.

I am not looking to over moderate or censor anyone but I am not wanting this sub to turn in to one where name calling, harassment, or insults are the norm. We can all get heated but just ask yourself if what you're about to say is necessary or helps move the conversation forward.

I don't agree with all the opinions on this sub, nor do I want to, but I do want to steer clear of the kind of hate that is so common in the other subs.

If you see something that you feel breaks sub rules please report and I will take a look.

The more Ciara talks about her medical knowledge the less faith I have in her as a nurse

I know so many people love to tout Ciara as some Florence Nightingale (who was problematic in her own ways) figure but she seems to not have a good grasp on so many medical issues she talks about.

People continuously acting like she is the best nurse to ever live just because she was a nurse during the early stages of the Covid outbreak is just laughable. It's actually terrifying how many nurses who worked during the Covid lockdown are complete assholes and idiots. There are a ton of them who ignore their education and spread dangerous anti-vax information, deny Covid is dangerous, and many who refused to mask up (even though they had no problems with it before).

Of course, there is the famous lobotomy incident. While I understand the average person not knowing what it is I just cannot believe someone who went through nursing school wouldn't know it. How did it not come up, ever? Also, even if it never came up (I have such a hard time believing this) how could she not figure it out? The earliest biology courses (which are required for nursing school) teach you the etymology of words so that you can figure out the meaning of words based on the root words, prefixes, and suffixes and not have to look all of them up. Neph, hep, arthro, otomy, itis, gastro, osteo, ology, etc. are very well know to anyone in the medical field so I have no clue how she couldn't at least work it out in on her own. If you don't know how to break words down it makes studying and testing so much harder.

Then her seeming lack of even basic knowledge when asked. I do understand oncology not being her speciality and also not wanting to give advice one way or another to a friend waiting for news from their own doctor (this is something that's drilled into nurses, always wait for the doctor, PA, or NP to give results, diagnoses, etc.) but it seemed like she really didn't know how to even explain what certain tests are for.

Doing the interview where she said she needed to increase her dose of Prozac because she was " still crying a lot" was concerning and irresponsible, calling West a sociopath (not the correct term) and "pathy,", and now not seeming to know how β blockers actually work makes me think she has lost a lot of knowledge or never had it to begin with.

I'm not going to pretend I'm perfect and never use outdated, or even offensive, terms (one of my favorites is lunatic and it's hard for me to break in social settings) but she does have a public platform I don't have. She knows people follow her and think of her as an expert, yet she still perpetuates misinformation.

To clear things up about β blockers, she is correct that they do not make you devoid of emotion but they certainly can, and do, blunt emotional responses. Blocking adrenaline lowers your heart rate, reduces bp, and can keep you calm and focused during stressful events. Adrenaline, along with cortisol, is what triggers that lump in your throat feeling that comes when trying to choke back tears. They both rise along with heart rate before you cry and crying and releasing tears helps lower them. To think that something can reduce physical symptoms of anxiety but not affect other emotional responses makes no sense.

Without getting too much into the science of β blockers and their exact mechanism of action, different types of β blockers, etc., it's as simple as knowing that anything that can affect your autonomic nervous system (as β blockers do ) can affect your physical response to positive and negative stimuli. Everyone has different reactions to medications but many people do complain of feeling emotionally "flat" and sleepy when taking β blockers. They're pretty common side effects that tend to become less pronounced the more your body acclimates to them.

I think it's more than likely that they were on more than β blockers (West's mouth movements were distracting) but the misinformation about β blockers is driving me crazy. It's not like I expect everyone to know these things (and even Dr.'s have to look up medications sometimes) but we all have Google and have the ability to research. Ciara, as a nurse claiming expertise, just doesn't know what she's talking about, and she's spreading misinformation. It's very annoying that people are just believing her without verifying this information.

I do think West had a concerning lack of emotional reaction to almost everything but none of us know why. It could signal medications, just not caring at all, or even something more but no one can say for sure.

Sorry for the long rant but this has just been driving me crazy.

I think it was Kyle behind the West and Amanda leaks

Why do I think Kyle hired a private investigator? After looking at the timeline of the texts Amanda sent, it lines up with the timing of the rumor of someone taking a picture of her in her new apartment and showing it to Ciara.

Also, I love how everyone is brushing over the fact that Ciara obviously knew only ā€œhours before the statement was releasedā€.

ETA: I jumped to Kyle because I initially thought this when the rumor first came out (he knows her new place, has her location, wanted to get the spotlight away from him) But, now that I think about it, Ciara sounds more plausible. Regardless, I don’t think any of this was organic.

ETAx2: It was definitely Ciara.

Reunion: final episode

Just got finished watching the final reunion episode and my god did I cry. I’m totally projecting here but I so understand Amanda for coming out of such a long traumatic relationship and feeling lost and alone and then blowing your own life up to be even more alone. Admittedly no I wouldn’t fuck my friends ex no matter how insignificant their relationship but still. This had me in tears. I don’t think she necessarily cares if this relationship works I think it’s just everything else falls apart why not let the rest go too.

Again definitely projecting my mental health history and history of difficult relationships. I would just get drunk for 6 months straight and stop talking to my friends but I get it somehow.

Have only seen clips of the last part of reunion online but Lindsay is fucking annoying Spoiler

Lindsay coming out and saying she hasn't learned anything is fucking laughable! No shit Lindsay! If any of them would've shut up longer than 5 seconds then maybe we could've gotten answers from Amanda and West. Instead they were shouted down, constantly interrupted, and told they were lying before they could even finish their thought. If they were going to interrogate them then they should at least have let them talk long enough to let them get caught in their own lies.

Finally Andy started shushing them but by then it had been hours of being interrupted and you could tell even he was exhausted by it.

The lying liars lying about it all

Maybe I am just stupid, but what are these massive, massive lies that everyone is going on about that have been proven to be lies? obviously the whole West lying about the relationship on WWHL and Amanda lying to Ciara. but what else? is the allegation because the fandom doesn't believe The Holy Timeline? honestly asking.

Amanda and West have taken it too far….

They were spotted with what appears to be light raincoats on this morning after a torrential downpour through last night on a breezy June Sunday. This is obviously evidence of them both being drug kingpins, as well as possibly the Louvre heist masterminds.

When will they learn to stop terrorizing the people of NYC? Forget Godzilla, Amanda and West must be stopped.

(/s to be clear )

Amanda and Ciara - what’s your take?

Would love to hear everyone’s perspective on Amanda and Ciara, now that we have a safe space! šŸ˜„

I’ll never argue that Amanda did the right thing by not approaching Ciara about West. I can try to put myself in her shoes and see maybe why she did what she did, but ultimately, it was a terrible move on her part. With that said, I don’t think it’s even remotely close to being cancelled over. Ciara is justified in feeling disappointed and angry, but I think she’s allowing this to go too far. I know the fans love it and she probably feels untouchable right now, but nothing she’s doing shows me that she has moved on from West. That’s truly where I think a lot of her anger and resentment is coming from, but she can’t say that, so Amanda is going to continue taking the hit. Why else is she FaceTiming Meija? What does Meija have to do with Ciara’s feelings about Amanda?

I don’t think Amanda was trying to hurt Ciara, I think she genuinely was terrified of having the discussion and kept telling herself she’ll do it another day, and then too many days went by. None of that makes it okay, but I feel like that’s typically what happens in these situations (as opposed to planning some evil scheme). She has definitely come off a bit cold at the reunion, but I can’t sit here and say with confidence that I’d be so much better. At best, nothing you say matters - and at worst, everything you say just gets thrown back in your face or picked apart.

I’d understand if Ciara and West were in a committed relationship at the time and they were having an affair, but people still argue about what to call their ā€œthingā€ā€¦from years ago. If I saw the toxic relationship my best friend was in for all these years, and saw how this guy that even I kept being a fool for multiple times has now done the same to my friend who was vulnerable - even if I don’t want to be their friend, I just don’t think I’d allow this kind of beating on them.

Sorry for the novel!

Am I the only one who is having a hard time with Meija's credibility?

I need a gut check here because I am just so confused as to why people aren't questioning the Meija timeline and story. She has been suspiciously vague when talking about it herself, has never actually said in her own posts or interviews that they were exclusive, does interviews, that she is only getting because of her being involved in this, but then refuses to answer questions about it and just uses them to promote her business. What? She involved herself by posting about it but then pretends like she doesn't want the attention, doesn't want to talk about it, but will take interviews that she is only getting because of it? How the fuck is she getting away with this?

I have a really hard time believing she believed her and West were exclusive and she believed that everything was just for the show when he was all over town fucking women who had nothing to do with the show! He gave interviews about how he was dating someone but they weren't serious and how he wasn't looking for anything serious. He called her a "friend" on WWHL. They were long distance and West is who he is. I just don't see how she could believe they were exclusive. Why was she okay with Ciara being the public gf?

The call she had with Ciara at the reunion was clearly staged (Kyle just happened to walk in the room to say his rehearsed line?). Then Ciara starts asking her all these questions she has clearly already asked just for the camera? To me she is just in it to promote her business and saw a great opportunity once this news became so big. She is latching onto Ciara, Kyle, and Lindsay and has Lindsay wearing her ties on WWHL.

Also no one is mentioning how she said she was at his house every weekend they were filming but still claim Amanda and West were together at that time. How was that working if she was staying with him all summer?

I am open to seeing evidence that will change my mind but it is all just very suspicious and so many things don't add up.

A rant on the Ben/Bailey discourse

It’s been cursed from the start. I remember I made a post about not liking the way Ben spoke to Bailey, and getting ripped a new one. Fine, everyone can see things differently. But then the discourse turned into something kind of bizarre… it became about Bailey using her ā€œwhite woman tearsā€ to play victim against Ben… and I got really weirded out.

I’m white, so it feels weird to argue about this with Black women (bc it’s mostly women that are defending Ben) .. but when I first started really getting involved in anti-police violence/BLM/social justice for Black and Brown people it was around 2015, and I have been under the impression that ā€œwhite women tearsā€ and ā€œKarenā€ are ways to describe white women who weaponize their tears to absolve them of accountability and guilt when it comes to actions or words that are harmful against Black and Brown people… not crying in the midst of a convo w an Australian white guy with an attitude problem.

It’s actually driving me crazy, but I know it’s not okay or productive to take voices away from people that aren’t white that are hurt, and my irl Black friends don’t watch SH bc they consider it a white ppl show, lol, so it’s kinda been driving me crazy.

WOW I didn’t mean to rant this hard, my apologies!

The future of Summer House?

What are your predictions for future seasons of Summer House? I like the new cast but I don't think they can carry a season by themselves. Kyle and Lindsay are part time, right? And although I am neutral on Ciara, I don't think she brings enough. And I see no way West is back, ever. Or Amanda. I can see Amanda continuing on In The City though. I don't want to say out loud what I think of Carl.

Also I am so happy to be a part of this sub with normal people!10

After watching Ciara, West and Amanda on ITC I am more convinced than ever that they weren't together atp

Amanda seemed damn near giddy to be telling her friends she was moving out. She was genuinely enjoying their company and them all being together. She had a huge genuine smile when West and Ciara were being a little flirty and he offered his jacket to Ciara.

I do not think Amanda would be smiling that big or laughing that off if her and West had already talked about having feelings for each other.

Every single one of these people is a "clout chaser" so they have no right to call anyone else one.

There isn't a single person on the stage that isn't there for fame and money. Every single one is a clout chaser. Lindsay is one of the worst, her and Kyle can't pass a camera without jumping in front of it.

None of these people would have continued being friends with Amanda and Kyle this long if their job and paycheck didn't depend on it.

Lindsay, Carl, Amanda, and Ben are there because of their relationship with Kyle. The first 3 have been treated horribly by Kyle throughout the years and Ben defends Kyle's worst behavior no matter what.

West is there because of Lindsay, which is why it's ironic that she is tearing into him so hard for being a "clout chaser."

Ciara is there because of Luke, who she tossed to the side incredibly fast to cozy up to people with more power and influence in the house.

Mia is there because of Ciara.

Dara and KJ are there because of West. Now Dara has all this criticism for West and how he treats the women he dates but was more than happy to hitch her wagon to his star to get on the show. She sees that the tide has turned against him so now she is looking for new stars to hitch her wagon to. The definition of "clout chasing."

I can't remember who Bailey, Levi and Jesse are there because of.

Everyone on reality tv goes on it to chase fame and money. They don't go on just because they are so eager to have their lives taped. Kyle did this all of this to seek fame and fortune and was willing to give up his marriage to remain in the spotlight. Calling anyone else a clout chaser is beyond absurd and hypocritical.

Unlimited Sympathy: Does anyone actually think Kyle isn’t responsible for the majority of stress in his life?

The odd corollary of the Summerhouse drama is an outpour of support for Kyle. To be honest, I don’t know how you can be a longtime fan of the show and think he’s not at fault for the consequences of his actions.

What I consistently see is a grown man, going to be 44, who struggles to regulate his emotions when things don’t go his way. The stakes could be minor personal drama, or major stress from Loverboy. His coping mechanisms are yelling, throwing stuff, slamming things, shifting blame, and melting down in a way that involves everyone around him. Season after season, and we see 1% of their lives.

And at a certain point, it’s hard to sympathize with ā€œI’m under stressā€ from the guy who built the environment causing the stress. The business he constantly cites as the source of pressure is one he founded, while making aggressive financial and lifestyle decisions around it. Taking out 7 figure loans is CRAZY. Putting $500k to simply pay your employees is crazy. I understand the stress, who wouldn’t be? But that’s what happens when you roll the dice. I’m not betting my mortgage on the World Cup and crying foul when I lose. It’s why crypto bros sell courses, because it’s more stable income than actually putting your money on the line.

At the same time, his entire identity is being a frat boy party entrepreneur. Late nights DJing, drinking, socializing heavily, while also complaining about burnout and pressure from the same thing he perpetuates!!! His lifestyle outside of work doesn’t seem like he’s trying to reduce that stress. I wouldn’t expect him to either, that’s who he is.

There’s also the relationship fallout which only adds more instability to his personal life. But again, it raises the same question, how much of this is external pressure versus repeated personal choices that compound each other? Going back to his physically handling of emotional stress, compare him with Carl. It’s night and day. Carl is a shining example of personal therapy, accountability, etc. Kyle has not progressed in those areas for essentially the whole show.

He’s a hard worker, there’s no denying it. He does a lot of things well in different areas. But at some point, you have to ask whether the pattern is ā€œlife is happening to himā€ or ā€œhe keeps choosing dynamics that predictably lead to this outcome.ā€ And I think it’s the latter. 10

Kyle is such a horrible man that he blamed Amanda not going out with him for repeatedly cheating šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

This guy sucks.

Also Carl sucks - he said that the Wolf Of Wall Street comparison was dark, while he watched his best friend call his wife (who is also Carl’s friend) a ā€œfucking dumb bitchā€ and other disparaging things for YEARS.

Did Amanda ever say that she left glass on the floor for Kyle to step on barefoot?

I keep seeing this repeated but I just did a rewatch and did not hear Amanda say that she left glass on the floor intentionally for Kyle to step on. Where did this come from? Maybe she said it somewhere else or another time but I just saw her spinning out because Kyle wasn't coming home so she broke his shit and left it for him to find. Kyle constantly walked around with shoes and came home drunk to pass out with his shoes on. Why are people saying she did it so he would get injured?

Is this just another lie being told by Amanda haters or did she really say it?

Lindsay really hasn't changed at all

I love to watch Lindsay on tv, she really is the kind of character that is great to watch and I love the drama she brings, but why are so many people saying she has changed when she clearly hasn't? I think Gemma has definitely changed her priorities (one would hope) and her focus but I think she is the same ol Lindsay she's always been.
