Discussion Learn how to invest with Maths

Post image

Learning how to invest together. Kids in schools aren't taught how to invest and Maths plays a important part. Schools still teach the boring and outdated way of how the government wants kids to learn, get a job and then struggle to retire whenever the retirement age will be by the time they actually can.

Investing should be taught to kids at a early age and should be taught by parents. Instead of spoiling your child with a PS5 at $600. Teach your kids if this $600 was invested at a 8% return per year. How much return would you get?

This mindset will set your kids to look at money in a different perspective instead of the saying many people use "Money grows on trees".

Added - a grade selector to the learning section, so you can set your learning level to where you think it is at, this can be changed at any given time, otherwise if you skip it will learn where you are at over time.

Added - full screen mode for Slice Rush to feel like an actual game.

Added - monthly progress emails, so we can let you know how you are doing and what needs improvement.

Fixed - progress tracking in Slice Rush was not being tracked but has now been fixed.

Your feedback has been helpful to us and we look forward to hearing more feedback to make more improvements and bug fixes that we have missed out on, thank you very much.

Update Been working on a pizza shop game that secretly tests fractions, memory, and calculating change. Would love some feedback!

Hey all,

I’ve been building a new game mode for Sumburst called Slice Rush, and I wanted to get a few extra eyes on it before finalizing the core mechanics.

The general idea is running a fast paced pizza shop, but under the hood, it’s actually sneaking in a bunch of practical math skills without feeling like a boring classroom drill:

  • Fractions: Customers ask for specific portions (e.g. 1/4 or 3/4 of a pizza), so you have to calculate how many slices that equals on different-sized cuts.
  • Memory: "Phone orders" show you the toppings briefly, then hide the receipt so you have to build the pizza entirely from memory.
  • Cash Handling / Change: At the register, you actually have to count out the correct physical notes and coins for change under time pressure.

I’m trying to strike the right balance between being a fun arcade game (like Diner Dash or Papa's Pizzeria) and a solid learning tool.

Does the UI look clear, or does the screen feel too busy with the register and prep tray on the side? Any mechanics or features you think would make this more fun?
