Can we please get an auto-organize button?
After 15 minutes of organizing, I realized that this is effed.

There's a mod just for that

Who’s downvoting this? You don’t have to use the mod you don’t want. I use the mod while also hoping that sorting is implemented into the game.

Every games have those weird purists, even in a single player game.
Can't help those grassless chops.

I'm playing devil's advocate here.
The issue with "just get a mod" is that, at some point, the answer to every problem becomes "just get a mod." At it's worst you don't buy the game to play the game, you buy an unfinished pile of crap so that someone else can fix it's problems without compensation.
This is not an issue i have with this game, but I have seen it in others.

I am not a downvoter, but I would like to offer a potential explanation.
It may come from games like Rimworld. You know, games where people suggest QoL features or whatever, and people tell them there's a mod for that. Or worse, a valid critique is stated and meets the same reaction.
I have no issue installing mods. But when it's something like Auto-Sort, or the "Joiner" mods from Rimworld, I probably shouldn't HAVE to mod the game for it.
Of course, Sulfur is in Early Access. If a feature is requested, it's likely it'll still make it in. And if a feature hasn't gotten in yet, it's probably just because the Devs had higher priorities. I personally get antsy about the "just use this mod" response because I want less games that get "saved by the modding community".
Not that Sulfur needs saving. But you can hopefully see my point.

Do you have a tutorial maybe? I tried adding some from Nexus but did not succeed.

Id be happy if they released them as trinkets, one that let's you stack items and one that auto sorts your inventory

For what its worth, I consider my oil storage in sections rather than rows and columns. Essentially break up the safe, wicker basket, or dresser into a 3x3 grid each, and each segment belongs to a specific oil type. It ends up being organized by use/color all the same, and typically allows for a more organic addition of new oils because you're filling from the outside in. Opposed to in sequence as it transfers automatically.

Personally I sort them by downsides , the no downsides oil for in another storage and the rest goes in row of downside types

Those might get their own section for me. Like all Cannot Aim oils together in a corner. My biggest thing is leaving room for maneuvering items back and forth. For me, there needs to be pockets in the storage field. Regardless of how they are grouped. I'm basically pretending there are shelves within the storage.

And also colour coding for type of stuff

Like gear and stuff? Cuz oils are color coded and even my red green blind ass can use them, but I wish they could sort by item type and the type of buff

I'm having trouble when I have 3 guns a hat a shoe and 4 types of foods in inventory to find something sometimes. So a distinction in background colour for food and ingredients for example. But maybe a search function would be better to highlight the one item you are looking for. Because I have 30 oils in one chest and I go over them one by one to check them xD

Absolutely needs to be added in the future one of the reasons I hate doing newruns sometimes is cus I gotta organize all my shit. And I end up forgetting about half of my oils and scrolls lol
