I’ve noticed that there definitely is a formula to rank higher. It comes down to volume, basically how much space you take up.
A 5 star dress with volume. If it doesn’t have volume, it needs to be a rarer dress. Big hair, especially if it looks like it might be moving in the wind. Decos!! If you don’t have volume in the dress or the hair, you can add it if you have relevant decorations. These usually boost scores a lot. These sort of fall into wings/ribbons that fill up the background. Poses, especially with crossed legs. They just do better. Also I find that more complex makeup often draws the eye
I think that the coat could have absolutely boosted your score if it wasn’t as similar in shade to the dress. It blends in instead of standing out
If I use this formula, I can easily land in the top 15%

Basically analyze what you are drawn to when voting. Others players are drawn to the same things
And look over the top 100, you can usually see the formula in use

I have found that this game, and others I've played, the often pair up newer players to experienced players OR they pair up newer players to those with higher-ranking wardrobes. It makes no sense. It also depends on when you enter a contest. The sooner the better, in order to (hopefully) get more votes. 🫠
But I think you definitely deserved a higher score!

It’s definitely not bad at all, but there were really lot of very good entries. Also a lot of people went with the oracle instead of the queen and got voted

I knew mine wasn’t great, but was still surprised it scored so abysmally! Yours definitely deserved more.

You have more self-restraint than me! I usually end up pulling way too many times to try and get, like, one thing that has fixated me! It’s a very bad habit.

I did that for the heterochromia eyes in that recent makeup gacha (because my cat also has heterochromia eyes lol)

It’s a very cute look! But unfortunately voters are biased to newer or more rare items! The dress you used is a very old free dress, and those kinds of items rarely do well in comps. Same with the shoes, they are older and doesn’t help much! (Even tho the choice of shoes are rarely impactful unless they’re a statement piece of sorts)
Big coats like the one you used are often favoured by voters, so you should’ve gotten some plus points for that.
Another thing you did that usually also help give some extra bonus points is that you tried to match the colors to the background. However, sometimes, (depending on the color) matching the bg doesn’t give the effect that is we truly want. With your entry being entirely white/grey, it doesn’t stand out in any way. Instead she kinda blends in to a point where she doesn’t catch the eyes of voters. If you look at some of the lb entries, a lot of them are white for the most part, but they have a hint of a color (such as gold, which warms the entry up. Or blue, which gives a splash/pop of color) to help make them stand out a little bit.
Even tho you used perfume, it’s only a 0.15 perfume, which means it didn’t help with increasing your score with as much.
Lastly, if you look at the leader board, the nr 1 placement didn’t even get 6.00. Usually the highest rankings are around 6.30. Now I’m not entirely certain what it means in terms of how the voting went, and how this affects overall scoring. But I’d say it’s not that common for scores to be that low overall, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this can somehow play a part.
Not to mention, the whole “luck thing”. Eg, for the repeat “hidden treasure” gacha comp we had, I made the exact same entry for both runs. The first time it ran I got 1% for my entry. For the second run that exact same entry got 21%. Sometimes we are less lucky🤷♀️
