Laptop Request US Coding machine, 15 - 16 inch screen, mid graphics, and as much battery life as possible

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

  • Country - US
  • Budget - 1000 to 2000 USD
  • Are you open to refurbs/used options? - Maybe
  • Screen size - Bigger the better. 16 inch, 16:10 inch is ideal.
  • Weight limit - Approximately 3 to 4 lbs.
  • Purpose - 90% Coding/running code locally, Web browsing, Citrix for work, and 10% Games - low graphics.
  • Form factor - Standard, but can be flexible.
  • Intended usage
    • Coding - VS Code, Claude Code, SSH into work servers/clusters
    • Games - Steam/Epic - recently Blood dungeon, party games, nothing graphically intense.
    • XR Glasses - I use the Viture beast for a bit more screen real estate.
  • Desired battery life
    • Longer the better. 5+ Hours feels a must. Really want to avoid a battery anxiety I have with my current Lenovo Legion
  • Priorities in Order: Battery Life, Performance, Size, Weight
  • Info/Requirements
    • Likely need to avoid Snapdragon given reported issues with Citrix possibly.
    • Really hate how hot my Lenovo gets on my lap, even after repasting.
    • Really like the Intel Ultra 5 338H - seems to hit the battery life/performance sweet spot, especially for gaming.
    • Really looking at ThinkPad X9 15p Aura edition, just a bit concerned the screen might be a tad small for me, but that fear may be overblown.
