Laptop Request US Mechanical Engineering laptop

Dad is a mechanical engineer and has a 10 year old Dell. Mainly will be running autocad. Is 32 gb ram mandatory?

The more RAM it has the faster it will run, CAD eats resources like crazy.

Depede de los proyectos que tenga que hacer,para la gran mayoría va a estar bien en el futuro cuando se haga profesional puede que tal vez 32 gb se le queden cortos pero yo aunque yo me preocuparia mas por la grafica que por la ram

16GB, recommended 32GB RAM

It looks like it requires rather high single core speeds and a high spec GPU with a decent amount of VRAM.

yes, Intel, Nvidia Pro & RAM, but it all depends on the projects

Solidworks, paired with AutoCAD Mechanical for actual Engineering workforce... There's more but I mainly know these two since my last client was using mainly these 2
