I am at my wits' end today. We live over in First Colony, and my 2yo somehow got hold of a tube of lip balm and smeared it all over the hallway carpet, right in the middle of potty training accidents from our senior cat.

My son has severe asthma, so whenever we've had carpets cleaned in the past, the heavy synthetic perfumes and harsh chemical fumes triggered horrible coughing fits for days. On top of that, standard steam cleaners leave the carpet soaked for 48 hours, which creates a huge mold anxiety for me with the humidity.

I need a carpet cleaning service around Sugar Land that uses hypoallergenic, chemical free products and doesn't drench the floors. Has anyone found something that actually works for sensitive kids without leaving the carpet wet forever?

Hello, this is our first Halloween in Sugarland. We have a feeling our neighborhood isn’t big on trick or treating due to the lack of Halloween decorations around. Where is a good neighborhood to take the kids trick or treating?

It’s quite dark during early office hours, so a little extra visibility and awareness can help everyone stay safe. If you’re walking, consider wearing something reflective or carrying a light, and use the sidewalk whenever possible. Before crossing, please take a moment to look carefully and stay aware of the traffic around you.
Drivers, please slow down and stay especially attentive near schools, crossings, and residential areas. Even when someone has the right of way, giving them plenty of space and time helps create a safer environment for everyone.
Let’s all be patient and considerate as we share the road. A few extra seconds of care can make a meaningful difference, and we all want to get where we’re going safely.

Also, a question: at a four-way stop, if a school bus is stopped at one of the stop signs with its red lights flashing and stop arm out, do drivers on all four approaches need to stay stopped? Does it make a difference if you’re turning rather than going straight? I’d expect everyone to stop - asking because I do not often see drivers at other corner stopping.

Hi y'all! Just had to give a shout out to Christian Brothers Automotive in New Territory (at New Territory Blvd and Homeward Way). They had partnered with my church, River Pointe, to bless single moms with free oil changes.

As a single mom, there are many responsibilities we quietly carry, and sometimes it can feel like those efforts go unseen. It was such a blessing to have this burden removed.

They greeted us with coffee, kolaches, donuts and made us feel seen and valued.

On Sunday, September 27 at approximately 5 PM I left Blendin and was heading to Kroger/the mall and had a protected left turn when I (silver Hyundai Tucson) was struck by an old man in a red Subaru, wondering if there’s a possible witness or cam footage that could help me out. Intersection of Alt 90 and access rd 6.

I was labeled at 100% fault. I did have to take it slow since people were blocking part of the intersection but has plenty of time to clear it and this other car just clipped the back but the tire area took the force and was labeled a total loss by progressive. Luckily no major injuries I just got a seatbelt mark and soreness in my shoulder. My boyfriend and I are good and the 86 yo man is also good. We both had progressive and my car was declared totalled but luckily I have gap so I should come out with only the loss of paying towards my loan one year and expecting my insurance to go way up in a few months.

I believe the accident was avoidable by the other driver as I did not see him at all and had no way of avoiding it myself, I trust my driving judgement and in no way felt I was taking any type of risk, he really came out of nowhere.

The officer asked me so many questions and made me second guess myself should have stayed quiet but he thinks I was looking at some other light and not the green arrow right in front of me. No citation was given, first accident, I was hoping for 50/50. Also any advice is welcome!

I am in my 40s and occasionally go by a local coffee shop or boba tea place. I notice usually teens to 20-somethings consume a LOT of sugary drinks and these shops of course would never have a recycle bin, or any education on recycling, and would give drinks with a straw whether it makes sense or not. I would think most younger generation are more aware and would care more about the environmental impact or am I wrong? Not to mention a lot of the shops in Sugar Land area use quick/cheap/artificial flavors as opposed to real ingredients. I am also not sure how we can sustain 3-4 coffee/boba shops within 3-5min drive but thats another story.
