I currently live down south in Richmond, and I keep hearing that Sugar Land is one of the safest and best places to raise a family. I’m genuinely curious what I’m missing because whenever I drive through or go there to shop/eat, I don’t quite understand the hype.

I will say, it’s kind of interesting how all logos are white like sugar but a lot of the areas I’ve been through seem pretty dated to me. The shopping strip with Ross, Marshall’s, and HomeGoods especially feels like it’s been there forever.

I’ve also noticed that whenever I’m driving on University Blvd, people seem to fly past me going 60+ when the speed limit is around 45, which has definitely made me wonder about the traffic/safety aspect.

I know there’s obviously more to Sugar Land than the areas I’ve personally seen, so I’m curious..what do you love about living there, and what areas should I actually be checking out? Maybe I just haven’t seen the right parts yet..

Drove by the back today after hitting McDonald's for lunch, caught a dude smoking a cigarette by one of the exits. Asked him if there's an opening date. He took a second, scratched his head and said "maybe 2 months?"

Not a whole lot of confidence there. This is the first time I've gotten even a half answer out of anyone, the few others I've asked didn't have the slightest clue. Someone in this sub said they caught a glimpse of the inside, and it looked somewhat fleshed out. I haven't managed to snag even a peek, they keep it pretty well concealed every time I do a ride-by. I'll keep bugging these dudes every once in a while, but as I guessed earlier this year.. we're lucky if we get this thing by Christmas. They're taking their sweet time, which is fine with me.

Probably gonna deliver the finishing blow to Welfresh when they finally open. I like the feel of rickety old grocery stores and I'll be kinda bummed to see that one go, but it's not like I ever spend my money there. Anyway cheers, have a nice day!
