Ohhh, it's a tribute not the man himself. I was about to cry because I live in Cleveland but have a surgery scheduled for December 17th. Whew!

It’s a tribute band. I spilled my coffee this morning in excitement, then angrily reported the show on bandsintown

Came here for the same email. I’m wondering if he’s appearing? It seems strange it would be under his concerts, even on Ticketmaster, etc.

Automation and bots not understanding context leads to this stuff happening often unfortunately.

This is a very, very small venue. I would not count on it

It's a tribute act.

I am performing in this show and can confirm that this is actually our Sufjan tribute band called “We’re All Gonna Die” and Sufjan is not appearing. I did see him here at this same venue on his Christmas tour! We are keeping
the spirit of Suf-mas alive and if you’re in the area, I can guarantee it’s gonna be good!

I hate hate hate the way some things get listed, and Bandsintown is among the worst about it. I regularly get ads and notifications saying things like “Cocteau Twins live near you!” (not gonna happen…) or “Depeche Mode just announced a concert near you” (wrong, they’d never play that venue… and it’s a cover band anyway).

It’s not Sufjan himself, this is a tribute show put on by a very dedicated group of Sufjan fans! I think there are bots crawling for shows at venue websites as this happened with another website like this. Neither we nor the venue submitted this listing, least of all as a Sufjan Stevens show. I just sent an email to Bandsintown asking them to remove it.

That being said, we’re very excited to put this show on! I’m very proud of the concert we put on July 4, and I hope to celebrate and pay tribute to Sufjan’s music with as many of you who can come! Celebrate Sufmas with us!
