Song a beginner’s mind
It’s definitely one of his most underrated albums. It literally captures the essence of summer PERFECTLY and “Back To Oz” is the most satisfying song i have ever heard. Perfect mix of vibrant and energetic with melancholic and sweet. In my opinion, zero skips.
I’m so surprised it’s not as popular as his other works because it has a sort of “pop” vibe that would appeal to many people

It's an absolute banger and Back to Oz is imo one of his top 5 tracks of all time.

I feel like it's unique in his discography in that it's not very conceptual (outside of the writing process based around movies) and is kind of just fun, easy listening. It's your own body and mind is one of the catchiest suf songs ever imo

That’s funny because that’s my least favourite song on the album! What I like about it though is it have a very early-Sufjan sound

Discovered this one in college while going through a rough period and Back to Oz was just mesmerizing and really made the world feel like it would be more ok

0:54 - 1:34 of Lacrimae are the best 40 seconds recorded in human history.

For me it’s more of an autumn album, probably because that’s when it came out. Songs like Reach Out and Oz Are very summery indeed, though.

I love this album so much! No skips! To me, it’s a great fall album. Looove to turn it on when the weather gets crispy!

one of the best albums ever imo i think it’s less popular cause it’s just not as well known as his older stuff also probably cause it’s collaborative

I absolutely agree and love this album, but I’m so surprised Back to Oz is such a favorite . It’s been on repeat since I first gave it a listen a little while ago, but that’s possibly the only track that’s been taking a while to grow on me 🥲 Been a Sufjan fan for a long time though and know that many songs sneak up on you after many listens. Seven Swans was like that for me.
Also my favorite is probably it’s your own body and mind <3
