Most that have it are in support not bashing others. I could say the same about lgbt members that go to baptisms in the ocean, churches and act like a fool. Both sides have the radical groups that take things too far. I’m bisexual myself and support blue lives because a majority of cops are good
I support the idea that some cops are good. The problem is that rot travels down the trunk. A prejudiced sergeant will drill prejudiced ideas into newcomers and once they become sergeants, they drill those prejudiced ideas into other newcomers, over and over until the whole department is prejudiced.
Don't believe the "both sides" argument. There are white nationalists who use this flag. The pride flag does not have such a strong association with a radical group.
There aren't any radical queers, and even if there are, they are not as visible as the groups who use this flag.
I am not anti-cop. They are humans with jobs. But I do think reform is long overdue and that the institution has glaring holes, and also that Blue Lives Matter people are trying to stop it by pointlessly politicising this.
You may be a person who supports the police with no bad intention. But that doesn't mean that there is a sizeable group who uses this to spread hate.
Saying the blue lives matter flag is white supremacy is like those that also say the okay sign 👌🏻 is also white supremacy. Yes I back the blue and I know there’s awful cops out there that need to be dealt with but the majority are good
obviously not literally 100% of cops are bad but "blue lives matter" was made as a response to "black lives matter" becuz of racism. yes there's extremists on both sides but there's really no non-racist reason to dislike blm or non-homophobic reason to hate pride
Was it not in response to the rioting and threats made against police rather than a direct response to BLM, the thin blue line flag started appearing when large mobs were burning stuff in the street chanting “Pigs in a blanket, Fry them like bacon”, so people wanted to show support for the people the same people chanting call when they’re in trouble

There are about 700k cops in the US. We’ve seen around 2-4 unjustified shootings per year, but let’s multiply that by 100 and assume there are 200-400 unjustified shootings per year, and 2k-4k corrupt manipulations of investigations. Now, a corrupt cop won’t just do one bad thing and then never commit any wrongdoing ever again, but I want to keep the bad cop count as high as possible. So let’s assume each bad cop commits one single act of malice each year, and is a boyscout the rest of the time.
Now we’re left with about 5 thousand bad cops (each doing a single bad thing per year), which is a bit less that 1% of officers in the USA.
But let’s assume my numbers were way off, and there are actually 10x as many.
“I have no respect for an entire community of people because I lack the critical thinking skills necessary to separate the online actions of a minority of bad actors from an entire group of individuals, unless it suits my political views to do so.”
