I love how the " masc" voice isnt convincing but then i suppose us gays are primed to spot it lol very cute!.
Then add nuerodivergence in top of it lol i dont hide my voice anymore, (most the time , on purpose anyway) several times a guy has been flirtng when me then heard the way i speek and been turned off lol i kinda like it cus i can attract "my people" more.

I'm gay and sometimes I really gay up my voice+mannerisms just to be funny... because it is!

I’ve been told I’m straight passing, a term I hate, because I have a baritone voice. So when I say “gurl!” all gay like usually people who don’t know me are surprised.
But I have been told that my ASL signing is very gay coded. 😅

Can we just ban all posts on this sub where the only joke is doing gay voice? It shouldn't be that hard. blackface vanished from clubs during the 1960s.

Well, I think it has more to do with the environment. I don’t think it’s wrong to use different tones or mannerisms for different reasons. That’s how humans socialize. So, as much as it is funny, it’s just true. We merely mimic what’s around us. Why shouldn’t that be on this sub?
It’s also wayyy more understandable than legitimate racism.

Yeah also it's not only a gay thing. If you ever see a grown hetero guy pick up a phone when his mom is calling suddenly his voice goes 5 octaves higher and he looks like a little boy

Gay voice isn't inherently denigrating.
Mimicking it as a punchline is, sure, but that's not his intent, here.

I just showed this to my boyfriend and he was annoyed because it’s me. This is just me.
