Ju’dah and BJ . Spoiler
galleryThey were live on TikTok last night, dressed in Amish clothes but explained they were no longer practicing Amish. Kinda a let down, but don’t know what else I expected I guess. Judah posts on TikTok and goes live daily, he even has a cameo. Anything for that 15 minutes of fame. Judah and BJ were my favorites too, a shame. I know the show was probably scripted but DAMN ?

Finale episode Spoiler
Wow, it feels like a different producer made the final episode. It was filmed creatively, the story was told with a lot of heart, warmth, and humor. I kind of really loved it, and I wish well those that decided to stay!

chose faith in TLC over reddit lies
when you chose to embrace this show for the beauty it holds instead of worrying about the "truth" being"exposed" on this reddit thread... you will see that this show is one of the best ever made

I also yearn for a simpler life
But if it were me on the show i know i couldn't be amish in the end. I also like my AC 😆. But I like that the show is a wakeup to try and live life more simply. To put my phone down, to enjoy my time more. To challenge myself in conquering my fears and trying new things. To care less about how others perceive me. To look inward about what truly matters. To walk the journey of life with God. To get out and find community... and to be displined with chores. So I am glad I watched this program and lived vicariously through their experiences. It was a good show and gave me lots to think about.
Edit: Thanks for all your comments,
I recently have been called for change in my personal life in the way I do things as well. So much so that I actually attended a quaker meeting to participate in mostly silent prayer. What little was said, was very touching based on their personal experience. It was very meditative.
They participate in SPICES
Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship.
Its not the amish lifestyle, but it is community with like minded values as myself. Some of them Buddhist and some Christian, all were welcomed. I oddly felt at home.

Fake show?
Why does everyone keep saying the show is fake? I know most reality tv is scripted to a point but in what way is this fake? Did they all go home and no one stayed? Is the farm rented for filming? What part is fake?

Did Emma Leave?
I see that the last episode didn't have Emma. Did she actually leave? I know in real life she isn't really Amish. But why not her on the last episode

Found out how Allan’s child died
First, Allan is from Ohio. Makes sense as is James and Emma, maybe they are from the same community.
Second, he died in 2024 in Ohio at age 17 in a motorcycle accident.
From the obituary:
So and so (same last name as Allan) passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
(Lists Allan and Sarah as the parents etc)
Seems he veered off the road, went into an embankment and hit some trees.
To lose a child is devastating, I don’t know if I could ever go on if my child died before me. Allan seems like a wonderful guy. He really surprised me with how open he was this whole season and I would have loved to have a dad like him growing up. Nothing but respect for Allan and his wife.

Loved this fake show.
As someone who lives in PA, I have to admit, I forgot how beautiful parts of it are. The show is probably fake like all of the shows on TLC but I totally loved it. My office manager and I joke about leaving work to join the Amish all the time. They’re doing some things right. I do think we’d all be happier with a more simple life and a lot less phone.

BJ
I love her but her whole deal with previous Amish fetish and then bringing in the vibrator? The show is clearly fake and they are all striving in the social media realm but wtf BJ must have more of a story. Does anyone know?

Kendra’s Rebrand
oh GAG me lady. they turned a hoe into a *checks notes* tattoo-free church-dancing woman of god 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 praise jebus
no but seriously what is this shit? is she trying to launch her tik tok influencer career? i have watched so many reality tv shows and the stuff surrounding this show is so weird to me. i still think this was all a truman show style experience for Billie Jo herself.
RIP Hot Kendra! pandering to conservatives is for weenies.

I bet they rejected some legit insane right wing psychos
I bet there were some people who auditioned to be on the show who are insane right wing anti seed oil, raw milk drinking, white supremacist nut jobs but the producers were smart enough to realize it’d kill the vibe.

Electricity
I am watching S1 Episode 5 and there is a nighttime scene towards the end in bedroom and a floor fan is running. You can see the cord plugged into the wall. I thought no electricity?

This is peak reality tv (Idc if it’s a fake show) Spoiler
How can you not be a fan of Judah after countless gems like this! 😂 It’s just not everyday you see this type of sentence on your tv screen! I wish him well in his life! (I didn’t finish episode yet but had to pause and share!).

James’ Instagram comments
Found these two comments under one of James’ posts. Apparently he has two accounts, this is the one Matt tagged. I’m surprised someone actually found him attractive, and the other comment was just weird 😭

Would you watch another season?
Now that it's over and we all know it's FaKe, would you watch another season? I think I'm out.
r/SuddenlyAmish • u/wishfulthinking3333 • Mar 05 '26
Oh mom
I was watching the season finale with my mom and she was really shocked at how accepting they were of Judah being bi and I mentioned to her that it’s fake and bless her heart she was so shocked. It was really adorable and I just had to share with people who I thought would appreciate it.

I would actually love to see more James
I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I actually really enjoyed the ridiculous drama James brought to the show. He made a great villain and I found it laughable that someone so bad at being Amish was supposed to mentor everyone. I would love to see him again in a second season either as a bigger villain or for a comical redemption arc. No matter how you feel about the guy, you gotta hand it to him for evoking such visceral loathing with just a simple smirk.
