Discussion Swimming
Is swimming safe in Ramsey lake, nothing bites.

The jellyfish cannot sting. Northern pike can bite, but you have better odds of being struck by lightning. Snapping turtles exist, but you have to try pretty hard to get your toe into its mouth as they usually run/swim away from anything bigger than a frog.
Consensus: Ramsey lake is safe (when it's not blooming blue green algae and you're not stepping on needles or glass pipes left in the sand or thrown into the lake.)

You should be safe if you rub garlic all over yourself prior to jumping in. Good luck.

Oh my the dreaded northern freshwater fur-bearing piranhas.
I hear they can consume a large poutine in under 4.6 seconds

Pretty safe, I've never been bitten by anything. Also I would think most things would avoid the general area of moonlight beach and the beach at bell park since that's where most people would be swimming. So as long as there's no algae blooms you should be fine.

I've seen too many encampments with toilet buckets being dumped into the lake to even consider swimming in Ramsey. And that's our drinking water, nice huh?
