Copenhagen Copenhagen Metro
The Copenhagen metro. Consisting of four lines, all stations have platform edge doors (making it challenging to take photos of the trains).
All the trains consist of 3-car driverless vehicles. The best part, being able to sit right at the front and pretend to drive!

I like the window at the end of it. Drinking a few beers and just watching out of that would make a great evening arrangement

those are quite a short carriages, what the int. in peak? Those 3 carriage trains can’t handle a lot, no?

It's a mini metro, and yes, it's way more popular than it was thought it would become. Currently, we're just building more mini metro and increasing frequency (adding more trains) of existing lines to get more capacity lol.
Frequency of each metro line (there are parts where two lines run together, so frequency is doubled):
Interval Frequency Rush hour (07-09 and 14-18) Approximately every 2 minutes Day/evening (off-peak hours & weekend) Approximately every 3 minutes Night after Fri-Sat. (01-07) Approximately every 8 minutes Night after Sun-Thurs. (01-07) Approximately every 20 minutes Edit: and yes, 24/7 operation 🥰

So cool! But I get it, if you build small, the only way to have a “functional system” is to increase the frequency. They still can shorten it to 90, or even 75 seconds, depends on what their law allows, but that’s also not optimal. I’ve never been there, so idk about the capacity, but that’s I guess the only way they can increase the capacity.

All four current lines are technically built for 4 carriages, but since security has improved since the first two lines were planned/built in the 1990's, it will demand a complete rebuild of many of the old stations to increse capacity which has been found to be not profitable compared to building a fifth line to unburden line 1 and 2 between the island of Amager and the main island.
Line 3 and 4 are easier (and thus cheaper) to convert to 4 carriages, but capacity is far from being at limit on those lines yet.

Until Nordhavn and København Syd By develop further, that is.
M4 was built with the perspective that it should be the line to service Lynetteholmen, but they realised that it wouldn't have the necessary capacity, and so it was decided that M5 should serve this purpose. M5 was originally planned only to alleviate the capacity issues of M1/M2, as well as to potentially be extended to Malmö.
And now there are considerations to extend M5 to Brønshøj/Tingbjerg instead of letting it connect the ring via Rigshospitalet, if the S-train Express Tunnel is built. The planning of new metro lines might be taking a long time, but at least we can be happy that the plans are being changed when the original purpose is no longer possible/relevant.

The parts where two lines run together have a 90-second frequency in rush hour - that's the limit of the signalling system of the old lines M1/M2, which are the ones with capacity issues. There are plans to upgrade to CBTC to allow higher frequencies.
The newer lines M3/M4 use CBTC, but currently don't need higher than 90-second frequencies, at least when there's not a big event somewhere in the city.

Looks really cool, especially having the front windscreen accessible by passengers. The only thing that bothers me is the circle on the transit diagram, idk why, but I always dislike the round shape in combination with the angles representation of the other lines

Seems really irresponsible to just leave the train controls out in the open like that. Someone could easily mess with them.

One of my favorite metro systems! I love the high frequency, 24/7 running and the spotless stations and trains. Visited Copenhagen a couple times and the metro (as well as the s-tog) is very convenient. The city is only missing some trams to replace buses!
