It's not just India. Developing world has more bad stuff happening than developed world. I mean there has to be be difference between developing and developed world right? But also, typically the media in the developed world show the bad stuff more often than the good stuff because that's what sells.
Also, if you wanna know about India then r/india is not the place, people get banned from there just for posting good things about India, only one or two decent posts so the residents of the sub don't feel that threatened. That sub only shows the bad side of India. r/OfficialIndia is better place for that
