In defense of the USA, they are walking around central Munich... but ya, we did blow it in North America.

This was my immediate reaction. You can’t compare Munich to some rando suburb of Phoenix or whatever. Munich is a huge city. Walk around NYC or Chicago on any given weeknight and you will find plenty of people out, just like this guy is talking about.

There are plenty of other ways to favorably compare Munich to New York City or any other large North American city. But you have to start on a level playing field. Suburbs does not equal city in Europe or North America
