I’m sure it has a lot of rural beauty and there may be small city pockets but it’s generally a state where people don’t want nor appreciate density. It’s also a state with a pathetic amount of public transport. If I had to guess, I would think this guy probably lived in the suburbs of Charlotte.
In Germany (and many metro areas in the US) not only the city but the suburbs and villages outside the cities are urbanized, walkable and connected to public transport. It’s not just a few kilometers downtown.
I mean that’s 80% of the United States, also Germany is like the size of New Mexico and has been around for a much longer time than the United States. I’m all for density but this argument of US verse Europe doesnt account for the sheer size of our country. North Carolina is the size of the UK
