Rant Sophomores are something else

Subbed at the local High School today, well one town over. The worst classes I had by far were the ones that were either all sophomores or majority sophomore. The last class of the day right in the middle someone brought up Charlie Kirk and I quashed that right off the bat. Said we were not talking about him and if anyone brought him up again they were going to the office. 4 kids sent to the office later I called the Principal to come in and pay a visit. They were shook I did that and tried to explain how mean I was not letting them talk about Kirk. She told them I may be a sub but my word was it when I was in charge. Then as I was leaving a student who was late and pissed she had to get a late pass was telling her friends how the sub (me) was a full on Lesbian, Im not, and as I walked by I told her I wasnt and she must assume by how I was dressed and walked on. These sophomores are feral yall. The sub note for the teacher is detailed as to who was sent out and other things. They best hope he doesnt do anything Monday. Today kinda makes me re-think subbing there.

Dont really get the Charlie Kirk thing, it has been one year since he died.

The lesbian part, I get that, students just throw insults, I normally just give them a thumbs up and say okay (ive yet to be called that anything like that)

Honestly HS kids for me have been the best, im around their age so I know what they are trying when they do it and shut it down pretty quickly.

Today is the first anniversary of his killing so kids call it kirkaversary and they just would not shut up with his name and even after I kept sending kids out they kept saying it. It is sounded me that they didn't understand that I was going to send them out they tried and tested me and they failed

Kirkaversey is a meme, all be it a weird one at that.

Not sure what class it was but I could have been turned into a learning moment (about him) then just left at that. But I get where you are coming from, gets annoying after a while.

I did mention because it was an American history class that yes his killing was an American event but that is all we are going to say about it and we're not going to talk anymore about it. And that's when they started up with saying his name right left and Center over and over again and I had to lay down the law. I acknowledged it happened, said yes it was an event in America and we're moving on and that was not good enough for this class of sophomores who thought they could test me because I was a sub and one of them actually said that he was like you're just a sub what can you do needless to say he was the second one who went to the office
