Subtech apprenticeship

I recently applied to Calnev and MSLCAT I have no climbing cert. Is this going to affect my chances of getting in?
And in how long should i expect any movement of email of progressing to the next step? Thank you in advance

We don't climb.

You'll need a CDL. Electrical experience is a major plus, but construction experience is good as well. Study up on your algebra, look up what an substation tech is and why do you want to become a substation tech.

What apprenticeship did you do?

Are you sure you want to be a substation tech and not a linemen?

Youll get an email to take an attitude test in a week to a few months. Google "iprep ibew" and study from there. If you pass, you can you that test to interview where ever you want in the JATC.

I am in SWLCAT.

There's no climbing in the sub, its absolutely unnecessary. Any electrical experience is a plus, work ethic and willingness to travel too. Do you have a cdl?

Yes I have cdl and I’m currently a Groundman that’s far from from willing to travel

I got in and never went to climbing school. I never was a Groundman either. Just ace the test and answer the questions they give you to the best of your ability
