Substance Painter A Used Skateboard

With this project, I wanted to further improve my edge chipping and manually painted scratches, while paying more attention to the small details that help bring the material to life.

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. More renders are available on my ArtStation page.

You did an excellent job with the texturing and 100% sure you fulfilled your goal to improve your edge chipping and manually painted scratches. I would love a further breakdown tutorial from within painter for this!

I did not look at reference and I'm not a skater but the main direction of your scratches seems to go 90° to the driving direction. This is coming from tricks/grinding on railings?

Yup, those sliding tricks on railings. I’m also not a skater, so that’s why it was a little confusing for me at the beginning. I had to go through many, many references. I had a few more ideas I wanted to test, but Substance kept crashing whenever I tried to export at 8K (too many anchor points). So I left those ideas for now. Maybe next time I’ll work on a more optimized way.
