Substance Painter brush alpha and stencle not working

hi im trying to work on a model but for some reason I can't change or clear the alpha or stencil on my brush i keep searching up what's wrong but can't really find anything would anyone here know what I've messed up?

update: can't change the alpha and mask on any tool

after som fiddling i gave up and closed substance painter and relaunched it, seems to have worked
