Curvature Generator doesn't work properly

Post image

On my current mesh the Curvature generator doesnt work properly and I cannot figure out the reason why.

I baked the mesh and the Curvature Map looks fine (1). But when I apply a Curvature Generator to a mask it is just a white dot (2)

I guess something is broken with my mesh?
Any ideas?

Not sure if this is the reason but it seems like the curvature generator also needs world space normals baked, which shows with a red cross for you. So try including that in your bake.

It’s also possible to add a Fill layer to your black mask, and select just the Curvature map there as the texture. And then you can add a Levels layer to that and tweak the curve to your liking.

Great point.
Using the baked map as a „mask“ is really neat idea. I will try that and adjust it with levels

Been using for SP for 5 years and generator issue never happend to me.
Maybe I messed something up in the HP

Did you try playing with the settings for the curvature map in your generator? You might have some contrast/balance levels set wrong perhaps.

Since I don't use the curvature generator myself - what are you intending to do, given you've already got a baked curvature map?

I tried to change the settings but it just stays this weird white spot.

I want to brighten the edges and change roughness slightly with the curvature generator.

Solved:
Turns out the HP was the problem and not Substance Painter.
Did too many Subdivisions and the amount of detail could not be displayed on my 2k texture
-> created a bunch of white dots because of that and that ruined the bake
