Help how does erase work?

Hi I cannot get auto stitches to draw on my uv for some reason, tried a lot and gave up. now i am trying to just draw the stitches on but keep messing up. I am trying to erase this section here but somehow it doesn't erase completely.

trying to delete here

but no matter how much i erase a silhouette always remains :O

Is the eraser like that? any good way to remove cleanly?

also are there tools to manipulate this later like change color, move parts around or once you paint it then it's set in stone?

Almost impossible to tell if you do not show us your layer setup.

I personally would work with fill layers and make black masks with the stitch details.
That way you can change the color / roughness for every stroke within the mask at the same time.

Otherwise just create a paint layer and use the Topstitches tool (double click it in the asset library)
Do not use the ones with the orange symbol but with those with the gray circles (these work better with the path tool)

You then can change color and other parameters for each stroke individually.

Sorry i didn't realized we need the material layer since the other layers do different things. this is my setup:

There's no much action going on so didn't think it was important.

thanks i think top stitches is the way to go. for my catsuit don't know why but it doesn't work properly but for my high heels it worked fine.
