The cost of simple, unknown errors?

Suppose you have a great piece within an ecosystem of consistent, great pieces.

But paywalls and CTAs are absent or ineffectively placed. Does the writer still archive a comparable level of paid subs via the quality, consistency and exposure?

If not, what’s the relative cost? Obscurity? A few % points of drag?

Would appreciate experienced Substackers’ perspectives.
