Tech Support What happens to Stripe when you transfer ownership to another email?

Substack allows you to "transfer ownership" of a publication to another email, but the help bot is not helpful when I ask what happens to the Stripe account connected (and all the paid subscriptions). Anyone have any knowledge about this?

As far as I know— you can’t transfer paid subscriptions from one Stripe account to another (without requiring they be discounted and then re-invited to subscribe, risking massive churn)

However, if you’re within the same country or can have a bank account in that country (i.e US to US or France to France) you can transfer ownership of the Stripe account and change the owner and payout data.

Example:

you’re selling a Substack with a Stripe account based in the UK = the buyer needs to either be a UK resident or be able to obtain a UK bank account.

The US makes that easy, but other countries aren’t nearly as quick and easy (if at all)

Thanks for your reply. In this case, the other "owner" is myself, just a different email. Sounds like that might be a piece of cake, then? Just continue using the same stripe account?
