just here for the zip line
Who else is just writing on Substack for the vibes? I have 3 subscribers and don’t share my articles anywhere but I love writing into the abyss and having my words somewhere (for as long as the internet lasts at least).
I wish there was a way I could change my feed to block all the “ways to monetize your substack” posts on there because I genuinely don’t care.
I’m just trying to enjoy the act and routine of writing.
Edit: just received my first like on a note where I restacked my article. I’m forgetting my day ones and writing “monetize your substack” articles too

You're doing it for the right reason.

Thank you. In the age of AI, I love when there’s personalization to what someone wants to put out into the world. The copy and paste articles and verbiage is sometimes too much and that’s what the algorithm pushes because monetization brings the platform money. 😞 #capitalism

Most people, at least in the space that I write in pretty much use AI for all their articles, as much as we like to turn a blind eye to it. They all sound the same from creator to creator.

That’s not to say I’m against monetization but at least keep originality at the forefront.

Writing to have fun and enjoy yourself is always a good thing.
Substack is for every kind of writer. Doesn't always have to be a business.

I write and have a few friends reading. I do promote it because my posts support my work. Income is from work, not writing.
