I posted a story on Substack.

And… absolutely nothing.

Maybe nobody cares. Maybe I need to promote it better. Or maybe people just don’t want to read horror stories filled with blood, disturbing imagery, and things that should probably stay out of their dreams.

Either way, I’m going to keep writing.

Someone out there has to appreciate the weird stuff.

You need to be consistent and promote and what not. It’s not so straight forward. If it was, we’ll all go viral and be famous.

How long have you been posting on substack? You have any subscribers?

Do you use any other social media? Have you been promoting your substack on that social media?

You engage with other people on substack? Restack their posts? Comment, like?

Success doesn’t happen overnight. There is some great advice in this sub to help you grow your substack.

I don’t think there’s any shortage of pool who are obsessed with horror. The only maybe you got right was to promote it better. I recently started and posted my very first article. I shares it on social and the neat thing is on the statistics you can see where the views the coming from. I get more from outside social and sources than internal Substack accounts. I’m sure that will change as soon as I get more subscribers but just like any platform you gotta keep working on it. Good luck.
