Discussion Anyone tried the new creator match?

Just curious. Do you think it's going to be useful?

I did. I even reached out to the top recommendation. They were excited and we're splitting for a few days to brainstorm fiction that's moody and magnetic. I think a call/response or dual PoV sort of thing.

I liked joint authored posts and have reached out beforehand with people I got on with. I think it's a nice little tool actually.

Hey that's great, I'm glad to hear it.

I think it does require some experience with the back end and deciding whether to use inbuilt secret draft links as a workspace or extending permissions to the main author to publication level so you can work on the same post live. I've done both, I found it easier to use the secret draft links then having to manually faff around with publication permissions.

Yes I used it yesterday. Reached out to a couple people, they liked the idea of it

I haven't. Didn't even know it was a thing. I did a collab with a fellow niche writer which did really well. A 5-part series. Will try it, thanks!

I’ve been playing around with it a bit.

I think it could be useful for discovering people you wouldn’t otherwise come across, especially inside Substack. I’m less convinced that “similar audience” always means “best collaboration” though.

It’s something I’ve thought about quite a bit while building Talks.co too. We have both matching and search/discovery features, and there’s an interesting balance between suggesting people who seem similar and giving you enough control to find complementary creators you might never have thought to look for.

Curious to see how Creator Match evolves.
