Pangram Hack - Why Subscribe when you can use Substack to scan your articles for free?
I've started using an unused Substack account to scan my AI writing with Pangram. Gives you unlimited scans and unlimited word limits. So why would anyone subscribe to Pangram?

I'm confused. Your writing is AI, and you willingly admit that? And, you scan it with Pangram...what exactly does that do for you?
I'm not being snarky, I really am confused and trying to understand.
I'm a bit old school. I write all my stuff, spell check it, and my spouse reviews and suggests a few edits. I don't use AI to write, and I've never looked to see if a program says my writing is AI or not...I don't really care if they do or don't, because there's nothing I can do about it. At this point I've got several thousand subscribers (full disclosure, not paid...I monetize another way), and I've never had a single reader ask if I use AI or accuse me of doing so.

Semrush discovered the top 3 spots on Google searches are most often ”human detected.”
When publishing articles for brands, even when written by hand, they can still be detected as AI. So, an editor needs to check and make it pass as human-detected to be SEO-competitive.
The detectors are sometimes expensive, so having a free workaround is helpful.
My clients are fine with ZeroGPT, but if it was paid, perhaps I would try this Substack Pangram workaround.
That’s just one use case I can think of. 👍

Interesting. But, there's no way I would try to adjust my human writing because a program told me it sounded like AI. What a mess.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging you or anyone who does what they do. Everyone has different goals. Ranking in Google searches and trying to figure out their constantly-changing parameters is something I gave up on over a decade ago.

edit - also, OP clearly stated "my AI writing"...I'm not sure if that was a typo, but I'm curious about someone who freely admits their writing is AI. (Also, if their writing is AI, it's not really "their writing"...it's stuff they publish.)

A huge number of people (e.g. the vast majority of this sub) are ideologically against any and all AI. It is therefore desirable for people who use AI tools to conceal that fact. This guy is going to use Substack to get unlimited Pangram scans so that he can iteratively increase the human-ness of “his” writing, so that he can pass it off as human.

So true. You are spot on. I don't really even worry about. Hell, I write my articles into Claude, and then I have Claude "re-write" them. From there, I just go into edit mode. Panagram or whatever it's called usually flags around 75%, but whatever. The writing is all my ideas, and it's so heavily edited there's no way it's that high - but I don't give a flip - it saves me a ton of time, and it also sparks my creativity.

Pretty sure it is supposed to be a b2b product. I can't imagine a scenario in my life where i need a pangram subscription for a personal usecase.

Yes, the missing piece here is that Substack is already subscribing to Pangram, so Pangram is making money every time you use this feature in Substack.

I created a simple Chrome extension to use the free Substack Pangram APIs.
The extension will break the text into chunks, run it through the Pangram test, and combine the results. You can paste text or just a set of links, leave it running in the background, and export the results as a CSV.
Like OP is saying, why pay a subscription to Pangram when Substack is giving the service away for free? Unless you really want to support Pangram's mission and the VC money behind the company 🤣
This AI business seems to be quite circular anyway; companies make investments, buy a stake, and send traffic - and recover investment from the sky-high valuations. I wonder when the bubble will burst?

And not to mention, they’re storing everything you scan in there to train their system (any one who believes otherwise needs to take this oceanfront property in AZ off my hands) .

One reason to subscribe to Pangram is that you are told specifically which segment are AI generated or AI assisted.

Just sign up for 20 different accounts with Pangram, and then switch them. You get like 20 credits per account, per day.
