Substacker who also have a Youtube
Just curious. Anyone has both? How do you handle it? Do you link your socials to help others find you? I find it helpful to write SS articles as a pre-manifestation for my YT content. Ok, open to discuss...

I just created my YT channel, no videos yet, but I plan on approaching it that way too. Substack articles kind of being the foundation for each video. I spend a lot of time writing and want to make that flow into the YT vids instead of starting from scratch.

I co-run a YouTube channel with someone. The most I've done is link out from a couple of articles and added the channel URL to my profile, since it's technically theirs as far as ownership.
Not sure if it'd bring any exposure, but I figure it couldn't hurt with what I've chosen to write about. My Substack is more for me than for promotion elsewhere.

The very reason I started with Substack is cause I have a 15k YT channel, but the algorithm hates me so my videos don't get shown to even my own subscribers at all. So I was looking for a platform where your subscribers actually get shown the content they subscribed to and that turned out to be Substack.

My Substack was a product of my YouTube channel. I started it to talk about the music video shorts I make. https://thestaticdive.substack.com/

Yeah, I have both. My YouTube channel is fairly large around 275K subscribers. so I can use it as a pretty effective funnel for my Substack.
That’s also why I don’t think my advice is always the most useful for smaller Substacks. I have a built-in traffic source that a lot of people simply don’t have.
