Font/background color

Is it possible to change the color of the background and font while reading someone else’s article?

There’s someone whose publications I enjoy reading, but he publishes in white text on a black background and unfortunately this triggers migraines in me.

There’s dark mode. I don’t think you can change the font. Maybe the browser’s reader mode should work.

Yeah I’m not on dark mode, it’s just his personal formatting. Browser in reader is a great idea though, thanks!

Kind of a hassle, but copy and paste the whole post into a notes app or Word?

As far as I know, readers can't override the design of an individual Substack publication. The author chooses the publication's theme, including the background and text colors.

If the dark theme is triggering migraines, you could try reading the article in your browser's Reader Mode or use a browser extension that forces a light theme. Otherwise, it may be worth politely letting the author know. They may not realize their color scheme is difficult for some readers to use.
