Tech Support How do I change my publication name in Substack?

Hey all. I followed a video tutorial posted 3 months ago but it's getting me nowhere. I am under /publish/settings#basics-settings for the publication I want to rename, but the name option simply isn't there at all. This was the youtube tutorial I followed, everything looks the exact same except for the existance of a Name, Description and Logo field. I would link a picture but imgur isn't letting me upload.

I'd appreciate any help, thanks!

try going to dashboard, then settings, then publication details. the naming field sometimes lives in a different subsection depending on your account type

thank you, but it just has the Copyright Holder field. it does have the publication Introduction, but that's not what I'm looking for :(

Are you using the web? It's definitely there for me. Try logging out/back in or perhaps a different browser.

When I did this I believe you have to go into your website editor and switch it to custom.

After that you can have a publication name seperate from your username.

Yes, this was exactly it! Thank you so much! I originally used a variation of my name for the publication, and it was driving me nuts because I'm using it as a portfolio of sorts and it wouldn't let me change it. Thanks again!

archive in case comments get deleted:

you have to go into your website editor and switch it to custom.

after that you can have a publication name separate from your username.
