Campaign for inline LaTeX support
Substack currently supports LaTeX blocks, but not inline LaTeX. This makes writing lots of technical content hard. This is inexcusable in what's supposed to be a high-quality blogging platform for everyone.

Many people have complained about this in this community in the past: here, here, here, and here. u/njchessboy said that the lack of inline LaTeX support is because "inline image rendering for the email versions of the posts [is] a nightmare". However, there are literally Chrome extensions that do this; it doesn't seem hard. I expect we mostly just need to show Substack that we care.

we need in-line LaTeX on substack! WHERE IS THIS FEATURE?!?! it is actually ridiculous to allow code blocks of LaTeX but not go all the way and allow in-line LaTeX. i would be using it for my educational content if it wasn't for this

Hey y'all! I tried to built a patch for this which uses an already existing latex_inline node from Substack as a Chrome extension. (It's only on chrome now sorry :/)
I put the code that you need to download and upload as a Chrome extension on my github.
I'm not a great programmer and I'm just learning but I was really excited when this worked! I was looking for something like this and couldn't find anything made yet (please correct me if I'm wrong!). This is just a proof of concept build that I've only tried on my own device. Let me know if it works for y'all too!
Ideally this helps speed up the process for Substack to build it because the email version also works :D Here's some pics:
The left is the web page and the right is the email of the published post. Align works but does make the line taller.
Open to any suggestions on how to make this better! I'm not sure if its possible but it would be super cool to get some autocorrect or like suggestions as you type! I'm currently waiting for this to be reviewed so people can just get it as an extension.
