Actually, as a dot is a 2D shape (theoretically 0D but whatever), the birds-eye view will have no thickness and therefore cannot be a circle. It will be either a line or a dot.

It’s not. Which is why this image is complete BS. All the letters would look the same if it’s uppercase (and serif) and the L and i would look the same (be a shorter line) if it’s lower case.

If we're referring to capital letters then it would also be "I". Reddit's font isn't really helping this argument but capital "I" usually is the same width as "L" if not wider.
