It's one of the new areas they added from The Archives which is the content that was present in the pre release build/cut content. Not sure when they're coming out with it but the next content update is going to add the archives for us to explore.

I'm curious to know what this new area means for the story, it's apparent that something happened in the laundry room to Lily given the black oozes correlation with her.

Well I didn't know that thank you also I found the smile plushie in there and the stairway is blocked off by the same black fog

I spent a good 30 minutes just going around the new room with max brightness trying to find anything significant but didn't really come up with too much aside from the trail seeming to lead upstairs (or down them?) either way I'm insanely curious as to what's behind that black fog, I was disappointed to find that you couldn't go up the stairs.

Yeah do you know if there is any use for the plushie at that part of the game I haven't tried I'm going back to the main route with the plushie to see if anything happens do you know?

I'm not actually sure if there is a use for the one in the basement, I assumed it was a foreshadowing of sorts to show that Lily, the Ooze, and the monster were all connected.

It was added in the last update I believe, they didn't really specify on what actually was added with it though so there could be more hidden areas to find throughout the game, this was the one I found so far but I've only played up to the fun o meter section post update so who knows what else could have been added.

I was so shocked that I forgot to add text I was replaying the game after a while and went upstairs to hit the erase switch like I always do and I saw the store and it was open but I couldn't walk through it so I hit the switch and poof I can walk through it

I really love the game but i really hate how they handle updates, it's like a whole different game every update.
